Two professors from the University of Murcia have received recognition from the Cheese Regulating Council of the Protected Designation of Origin 'Cheese of Murcia' and 'Cheese of Murcia al vino'.
María Belén López Morales and María Dolores Garrido Fernández, both professors in the Faculty of Veterinary of Food Technology, are part of the tasting panel, a group of experts in charge of making the sensorial analysis of the cheeses and certifying that the products that testan meet the conditions required to be considered as the PDO.
With the delivery of a recognition plaque, the Regulatory Board wanted to thank the work of the two experts in favor of the cheeses with the name of the Region of Murcia.
The main activity of the Regulatory Council is the quality control and certification of the production of cheese received to these protected appellations of origin.
The three cheeses harvested under the PDO are Murcia Cheese with Wine, Murcia Cured Cheese and Murcia Fresh Cheese.
