The mayor, José Ballesta, presided this morning a coordination meeting of the services involved to assess the situation in the face of rains in recent days and the forecast of new storms, given the yellow alert decreed by Aemet until 20:00.
All services will be activated again before the extension of the yellow alert by Aemet until tonight, which is why there will be a special attention to the situation of the rafts, storm tanks, scuppers and collectors of the municipality.
In the same meeting the behavior of the rainwater evacuation system in the municipality was analyzed, whose situation is satisfactory and whose response has been favorable to assume the accumulated water without excessive difficulties.
The measures taken in relation to the raft in the La Peraleja urbanization have also been reported, where four pumps have been working all night to drain water and the road to Avileses will be cut off as a precautionary measure.
They have attended the coordination meeting chaired by the mayor councilors of Infrastructure, Environment, Water and Garden, Infrastructure, Public Works and Services, and Traffic, Security and Citizen Protection, along with those responsible for fire, police, protection civil, development and urban planning technicians, Aguas de Murcia and general emergency management of the Autonomous Community.
Within 24 hours, the commission will meet again to assess the situation and foresee the need to adopt special measures, depending on the accumulated water.
