José Ballesta and Felipe Coello deliver a total of 772,000 euros to a hundred clubs, associations and federations to promote grassroots sports and support clubs in the neighborhoods and districts of the municipality.
There are about thirty sports: football, basketball, indoor soccer, baseball, tennis, taekwondo, runners, petanque, rowing, skating, swimming, cycling, football, wrestling, hikers, handball, etc.
The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, along with the Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, today made delivery of aid for the development of sports activities in the municipality of Murcia, in an act that has been attended by a hundred clubs, associations , federations and athletes who have received 772,000 euros as a subsidy to boost the base sport and support the clubs of the whole municipality.
José Ballesta stressed that "from 2015 to date, associations and teams have been subsidized with more than 3.2 million euros, supporting the activity of the different sports groups that promote the initiation of sports in neighborhoods and districts of the municipality and that agglutinate more than 8,000 athletes ".
In total, 119 grants have been granted, through competitive competition in public tender.
Of the benefited entities, 50% belong to teams that develop their activity in districts.
In addition, 9 teams have been subsidized exclusively by women and a total of 36 individual athletes.
About thirty sports
There are about thirty different sports disciplines that benefit: baseball and softball, tennis, football, basketball, indoor soccer, swimming, canoeing, table tennis, taekwondo, athletics, runners, petanque, rowing, skating, swimming, cycling, basketball in wheelchairs, football, wrestling, hikers, handball, rescue and life saving, archery, rugby, petanque, chess, volleyball, water polo, taekwondo, karate, etc.
The aid is for the maintenance of federated teams that participate in the highest category of national competition of the regular league, divided into two subgroups: football, indoor football, basketball, handball and volleyball-subsidy of € 380,000 -;
and for the rest of team sports disciplines (€ 20,000).
Also for the maintenance of federated teams that participate in the other categories of the national league (which is not the highest category) national, inter-regional, regional or local, the amount is € 130,000.
They also receive financial aid for sports activities in the categories of swimming (€ 100,000), sports initiation programs (sports schools) (€ 40,000) and organization of sporting events in the municipality (€ 50,000), as well as individual athletes (€ 32,000). ).
