Tribute to Adela Cortina.
Adela Cortina, philosopher, professor of Ethics at the University of Valencia and doctor honoris causa by the University of Murcia, will give this Thursday the conference Poverty and society: the aporophobia.
It will be at 12.30.
in the auditorium of the Faculty of Mathematics.
The conference is part of the congress VII Congress of Research in Information, Documentation and Hispanic-Brazilian Society that celebrates these days the Faculty of Communication and Documentation of the University of Murcia.
Professor Cortina conceived the term 'aporophobia' to refer critically to the rejection of people in a situation of poverty that occurs in our society.
National Prize of Essay in 2014, Cortina will also be recognized during his visit to Murcia with the presentation of the book Ethics and political philosophy: Tribute to Adela Cortina.
The presentation of this book will take place at 7:00 p.m.
in the law room of the Faculty of Law.
In the act, organized by initiative of the Faculty of Philosophy, will intervene: Pilar Berral, notary;
Emilio Martínez, professor of Philosophy at the UMU;
Jorge Novella, full professor of the Faculty of Philosophy;
and Norberto Smilg, professor of Secondary Education.
In the book, it gathers the contributions of people who have shared reflections and concerns about ethics with Adela Cortina.
She is credited with having achieved, from the philosophical rigor, turn Ethics towards the reality of the problems.
