The socialist councilor Juan Vicente Larrosa, who has sent an internal communication to the Department of Traffic and take the matter to the House if no response, indicates that the deficiencies detected on roads in the city and districts are "a pressing problem" that cause " insecurity "in all users of the road
The bad condition of the road in different parts of the municipality, with speed bumps that do not comply with current regulations, something that is reported in a technical report that has been made public through the press and will be sent to the City Council, is "a problem pressing "that endangers" the safety of drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, "as pointed out by the mayor Larrosa, who also points out the deficiencies that have a number of traffic signs, both vertical and horizontal, and the firm itself the roads.
Larrosa has sent an internal communication to the Department of Traffic, directed by Lola Sánchez, for the City Council to prepare a report by its technicians on the status of the roads of the municipal area evaluating the situation in which they are and warning of the actions that are necessary to carry out in them.
In the report, dozens of speed bumps have been studied in Murcia at the request of a private individual and the conclusion is that these elevations do not adapt to the Law that the Ministry of Public Works approved to slow down the vehicles traveling along the road.
These elements must have less than one meter of ramp, four in length and not exceed ten centimeters in height.
"On the roads there are bumps, bumps or guards lying down, as they are also known, it is very necessary, but they must be built in accordance with the legislation in the matter, which is why the Consistory must carry out this report. own and detailed, "says Larrosa.
These elevations, which are governed by an order promulgated by the State in 2008, fulfill their purpose as speed reducers, but also cause discomfort that could be avoided.
In fact, in some of these platforms the vehicles touch their asphalt with their high altitude and in this sense from the Municipal Socialist Group is demanded to proceed to a review of the highlights and the adaptation of all of them to the regulations currently in force.
It is a problem that presents many of the roads of the municipality, both in the city and especially in districts, many of which have irregular and cracked, without road and signs in poor condition, the horizontal with lack of paint and in some cases inappreciable and the verticals also deteriorated and in some cases without having recovered once the period of between seven and ten years that manufacturers advise.
