Eduardo Martínez-Oliva emphasizes that a shuttle bus is also scheduled to be put into operation when ADIF closes the crossing at Santiago El Mayor

The best proof of the Government Team's forecast of having a mobility plan to guarantee permeability when ADIF closes the step at the level of Santiago El Mayor is that not only has it been hired, but it has been executed since May.

On December 15, 2017 the Governing Board awarded the mobility plan due to the underground railway, in order to improve the traffic flow in the surroundings due to these works.

The project involved the execution of 10 differentiated actions, which included the installation of new regulation and centralization elements in the Traffic Control Room and modifications of routes in different environmental routes.

They were specified in 6 measures:

Centralization of the road axis that goes from the Plaza Ingeniero Juan de la Cierva to Ronda Sur

Installation of closed circuit television in the cited axis for the correct management of traffic directly

Centralization of the intersection between Pío XII and Huerto streets, which allows regulation on demand

Enable traffic signal turn right from Ronda Sur to Calle Morera

Improvement of the exit of the neighborhoods of Santiago El Mayor and San Pío towards Ronda Sur, enabling a turn signalized at the intersection of Ronda Sur with Miguel Ángel Blanco

Speed ​​up the departure of Pintor Almela Costa to Ronda Sur, turning the roundabout into phases

The cost of these works amounted to 169,000 euros

The works ended at the end of May, coinciding with the closing of the level crossing of the Senda de los Garres by Adif.

After announcing at that time Adif that closure, the members of the municipal councils of the environment were convened to transfer the information on the matter, as well as the circulation alternatives.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the municipal councils of Santiago El Mayor, Barrio del Progreso, Patiño, Los Garres, Los Dolores, Infante Juan Manuel, El Carmen and San Pío X.
