Both initiatives were already included in the electoral program of Rector Luján

The president of Crue Universidades Españolas, Roberto Fernández, highly values ​​the intention of the Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, Pedro Duque, to "redefine the policy of tuition costs with the aim of guaranteeing the University's ability to be a space of real equality of opportunities ".

First of all, Crue Universidades Españolas considers it positive that the Ministry intends to repeal Royal Decree 14/2012 to eliminate the range of university public prices.

This is a claim that Crue has been making for years and that should be accompanied by an increase in regional funding to avoid the loss of income in public universities.

In the second place, Crue Universidades Españolas applauds the pretension to eliminate the rate increase of the University Master's programs, in order to equalize the public prices with those of the Degree studies.

In the same way, Crue welcomes with special satisfaction the intention to increase the endowment of the scholarships of exemption of rates to guarantee like this the gratuity of the first registration of the students.

For all these reasons, Crue Universidades Españolas believes that these measures will contribute to equal opportunities and will represent another step towards the country's social cohesion and structure, by eliminating the huge difference in public prices that currently exists between Autonomous Communities.

On the other hand, Crue Universidades Españolas considers that the increase of the grants for "Industrial Doctorates" announced by the Government is a step in the right direction.

Both initiatives were already included in the Rector Luján's electoral program, so from the University of Murcia await the development of these measures.
