In a room papered with photos of plots full of garbage and debris that "are not attractive to the profile of Mayor Ballesta", both Susana Hernández and Enrique Ayuso claim "a municipality that can live off tourism beyond the four streets of downtown"
Socialist councilors, who propose the adaptation of some of these spaces as parking and provide more resources to Urban Discipline, accuse the City Council of not complying with the ordinance forcing the owners to clean their land or acting ex officio and then passing the bill
The Municipal Socialist Group remarks that there are "thousands and thousands of square meters of abandoned lots" in the municipality, spaces that have become real dumps and that can cause problems of unhealthiness because they contain animals, both living and dead, and assume a clear fire risk and, in fact, some have occurred lately.
So they have denounced it today the spokeswoman of the PSOE in the City council, Susana Hernandez;
and also the socialist councilor Enrique Ayuso in a press conference that they have offered in a room of the Moneo building that they have papered with photographs of lots that "are not attractive for the profile of the mayor, José Ballesta, and therefore he does not appear in them" .
As an example, in Nonduermas, a small hamlet, there are 23 of these parcels abandoned and in Algezares 25. A tour of the municipality is enough to find a Murcia that is far from what should be the seventh capital of Spain and that rather, it projects an image of "poverty and backwardness".
"Mayor José Ballesta talks about the Murcia of 2030 when he is unable to maintain the condition of 2018. We want our municipality to be able to live on tourism beyond the four streets of the center, but the reality is quite different", he said. Hernandez
The City Council knows what the situation is and the municipal boards have in many cases addressed the owners to ask them to clean them and that these spaces can be suitable as parking spaces.
However, the files continue to be filed without complying with the Solar Cleaning and Fencing Regulatory Ordinance.
In fact, there is a contract of 1.9 million euros with a company to undertake these actions and it is not done, which speaks once again of "the ineffectiveness and incapacity" of Ballesta, who "gives rise to they produce photos that are not pretty and therefore do not appear in them, because they are not attractive for their profile ".
"This is something we will denounce as many times as necessary, but Ballesta is more aware of his photo and not of the painful image that Murcia projects and that does not deserve the seventh capital of Spain," said the socialist spokesperson in the Glorieta, who has remembered that many of these parcels are of municipal ownership.
"We ask ourselves how the City Council can demand the owners of those who are not to keep it clean when not even the Administration fulfills its part", added Hernández, who pointed out that in November 2015 his Group requested a list of the lots that are owned by the Consistory and still waiting for it.
In the same vein Enrique Ayuso has expressed himself.
"From the PSOE fulfilled denouncing the state in which are the lots, something we have done on dozens of occasions, and we put forward proposals in the House, which are approved unanimously but then sleep in a drawer and what you have to to do is to go to the facts, "said the councilor in reference to" the lack of will "of the government team to solve this problem, because" is not even able to act by cleaning and fencing solar and then passing the bill to the owners, something that can and should be done ".
Ayuso has provided the information that the Municipal Socialist Group has issued 11 press releases related to this problem in the three years of the current mandate of Ballesta.
"In addition to awareness campaigns such as 'Do not be Marrano', it is necessary to provide more human and economic resources to the Urbantística Discipline service, which is not enough to combat this problem," added the mayor.
