'Keeping the plots in proper conditions is a measure that worries us, that is why we have intensified the control by the municipal services to detect if these spills occur and immediately undertake the procedure for their cleaning', explains the Popular Councilor.

On the one hand, the City Council has signed a contract to provide the service of cleaning and fencing of lots of municipal ownership, with an annual budget of € 150,000.00.

In the first ten months of 2018, 35 actions have been processed, worth € 106,705.53, of which 31 are already carried out and 4 are currently under execution.

This management means that about 130,000 m2 of municipal land has been cleaned this year, while in 2016 65 actions were carried out with an area of ​​340,000 m2, while in 2017 there were 60 actions, which allowed cleaning approximately 230,000 m2.

Regarding privately owned lots, the Department of Urban Planning, Environment, Water and Garden opens about a thousand records each year to order the immediate cleaning of lots in which an accumulation of debris and belongings is detected.

In this sense, Antonio Navarro has pointed out that, according to the procedure, in the event that the owners of the land do not deal with its cleaning once they receive the order of the City Council, the Urbanism is responsible for its subsidiary execution.

For this, the Department has an assistance contract to restore the environment to the conditions of safety, health and public decoration required.

Thus, when a property or land that accumulates dirt or presents a risk to people is detected, Urbanismo gives an order of intervention to the owners and, in the case that the stipulated term is met and it does not act, the contracted company does. subsidiary form, at the expense of the owner.
