The Municipal Socialist Group presented a question during the last plenary session to take an interest in the future of the avenues Miguel Induráin, Reino de Murcia and De Los Dolores, since the municipal government team of the PP announced a redistribution of the roads and of the bike lane, precisely because of the constant complaints of users about daily traffic jams.
That announcement is from the end of 2017 and "to this day the avenue of Miguel Induráin, planned to decongest traffic, is a real circulatory chaos, abandoned to its fate," says Councilman Enrique Ayuso.
In this sense, he asks "how many months are necessary for the government team to undertake the redistribution announced and make decisions about an ill-fated bicycle lane, which has not fulfilled its objective, among other reasons, due to the constant obstacles and traffic lights that frequently interrupt the circulation of cyclists ".
"The fact that these avenues are so chaotic for circulation from the moment of opening, and despite investing 474,219 euros, may be due to a very bad planning and there is no traffic study, as we denounce", add the councilman.
Ayuso, who insists that the traffic jams "are there to see and suffer them," urges the government team to undertake, without further delay, the announced redistribution "to see if a project that has resulted in outrage is repaired" and points out the urgency that "finally we have a well-designed bike lane that does not oppose the essential function of these avenues that is to remove traffic from the urban area of Murcia".
