The school Nicolás de las Peñas joins the schools equipped with shadow spaces (30/10/2018)

The Department of Education, Relations with Universities and Heritage, directed by Rafael Gómez, continues to develop a comprehensive plan to provide patios in the schools of the municipality of shaded areas to protect students from the sun and high temperatures.

This is a priority action, with an available budget of 150,000 euros to invest this year.

So far, shaded areas have been set up in the schools of La Paz, San Juan, El Ranero, Felix Rodriguez de la Fuente, Zeneta and Nicolás de las Peñas.

Rafael Gómez visited this last center this morning, where he has directly verified the completion of the work.

The installation of panels is combined with the adaptation of the pruning of the trees to increase the natural shade areas, which allows to gain more than 10% of protected area.

This action does not include the new centers, since the newly built schools already have shade areas through the pergolas from the beginning of their activity.
