Next Monday, October 29 at 7:30 p.m., in the Room of Culture Scope of El Corte Inglés, the talk 'Myopia: an Epidemic of the 21st Century' will take place.
The professor of the University of Murcia (UMU), Antonio Benito Galindo, will offer a conference to better understand this common vision problem.
Antonio Benito is a researcher in the European Myopia Research Network MyFUN, will focus on the increase in cases of myopia in the young contemporary population, what can be done to prevent and tackle the most serious cases.
"This optical problem, linked to the current way of life, is going to suppose a problem of public health of first order in the developed countries in only a few decades", emphasizes the expert of the Research Center in Optics and Nanophysics.
This activity is organized by the Unit of Scientific Culture of the Vice-rectorate of Communication and Culture of the University of Murcia, within the cycle of conferences 'The UMU and the scientific culture'.
The objective is to bring the research carried out at the University of Murcia to society closer.
