The PSOE candidate to the City of Murcia explains that he is visiting neighborhoods and districts to know at street level the real problems of neighbors, "now, in a further step we will hold conferences to have the opinion of experts"
The general secretary of the Municipal Executive of the PSOE and socialist candidate for the Mayor of Murcia, José Antonio Serrano, said today that seeks the vertebration, connection, balance and equality of the municipality, and that this means "definitely abandon the state of hibernation in which we have been for two decades. "
"Our neighbors deserve for a long time a City Council that will provide them with quality of life and guarantee their well-being, free of discomfort and contribute to their happiness."
Therefore, he adds, "I have begun a series of visits to districts and neighborhoods in order to know at street level what harms the citizenship, and in a further step we began this Saturday to hold various conferences and conferences to gather experiences, listen to experts and expand the look beyond our environment ".
The first of these days, open to anyone who wishes to attend, will be on Economy and Employment, because "our districts have an economic potential that the PP is underestimating and because employment is one of the main concerns of our society," according to explained Serrano.
The second is related to Huerta and Pedanías, "our main hallmark, which makes Murcia a different municipality, and because that is where most of the population is concentrated, not always with good services, but paying their taxes punctually, although they impact more in the center of the city through projects such as Murcia River or the pedestrianization of Alfonso X. Remember that the river passes through many districts, where more than avenues without pedestrianizing there are avenues without sidewalks ".
The third of the days is entitled Sustainability and Mobility and during it will address the "serious problem that exists with public transport," said Serrano, who has given as examples the case of San Ginés, where his neighbors must take two buses to reach their health center in Nonduermas, and Torreagüera, whose students take an hour and a half to reach the Espinardo campus, "which affects the use of private vehicles and a higher level of pollution for the municipality."
The fourth day will address the Culture and the goal is to bring it closer to each corner of the municipality, with greater prominence of the groups and also with greater accessibility for young people.
"We will take the opportunity to talk about our heritage, in which we have already begun to invest through the central government, which has announced funding for San Esteban and Monteagudo."
The penultimate of the days will have to do with sport, "with encouraging grassroots sport, with maintaining our sports facilities and with the development of programs that reach the entire population whatever their age", said the socialist candidate.
Finally, a day on social policy will be held, because, according to Serrano, "we have to give priority to the poverty rates that put our municipality in a very bad place, launching aid such as, for example, the social IBI, we have to address the creation of children's places to contribute to a true reconciliation of work and family life and we must provide solutions to the growing loneliness of our elders. "
While these conferences are being held, "we will continue going through the neighborhoods and districts because, as is done in medicine, we must first make an accurate diagnosis and then apply the most appropriate treatment, only then we will undertake the urgent revolution that this municipality needs," he said. the socialist candidate.
