The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, and the rector of the University of Murcia, José Luján, today presented the event #Murciasemueve that this year, for the first time, is organized in collaboration with the University of Murcia and will put the finishing touch to the University Welcome 2018/2019, Friday, November 9.
"It will be at the Artillery Barracks, with music, food trucks and cultural and leisure activities designed for young people;
the eighth edition of this initiative in which, for the first time, we have joined forces with the University of Murcia, to turn the university students into protagonists of this festival that celebrates young Murcian talent, "said José Ballesta.
The highlight of this year will be the Sidonie group.
Previously they will also act the bands Murcia MeatPies and Pájara Rey, winner and finalist of CreaMurcia Pop Rock, respectively.
In addition, attendees can enjoy activities and fun throughout the afternoon.
There will be exhibitions of 'cheersleaders', of the University Club of Rugby Murcia, of the club of 'Frisbee' of the UMU, urban dances, virtual reality of the hand of Murcia 'Lan Party', performances of the University Choir, etc.
Murcia Dance Center will also participate with 250 dancers.
The doors of the Artillery Barracks will open at 17.30.
In addition, the Museum and the Aquarium of the UMU will be open to the public and will offer guided tours until 9:00 p.m.
Likewise, information tents will be installed in which information about the activities of the Youth Council, events, scholarships, camps, linguistic stays, CreaMurcia and Club de idiomas, among others, will be offered.
An information stand of the "Yo Garantía Juvenil" campaign will be available, an informative action launched between the Employment Service and the Informajoven of the Youth Service of the City of Murcia, which seeks to bring the resources of the Youth Guarantee program closer to and Murcia young people through the Internet, social networks and associations and social groups.
The Youth Guarantee is a European initiative that aims to facilitate the access of young people to the labor market, through training, practices and specialized guidance, and is aimed at young people from 16 to 30 years.
For its part, the University will offer information on its services and activities in different tents: International Relations (capital contest, Chinese writing workshop, etc.), Culture, Equality, Volunteering Service, Sustainable Campus, sports activities, etc.

The event promoted by the City Council is organized for the first time in collaboration with the University of Murcia and is aimed especially at its students, as a complementary activity to the University Welcome.
#Murciasemueve is organized with Civil Protection and Local Police to ensure the safety of all attendees and will have a Violet Point to prevent and address cases of harassment and physical violence.
As in previous events, personalized reusable cups will be used, one more gesture in the care for the environment and improving the environmental footprint, minimizing the plastic generated with the collaboration of Ferrovial Servicios, which will also install a caravan where young people will be made aware and gifts will be given.
