San Antonio Catholic University has a place in the Barcelona Industry Week with the presentation of the High Technology Incubator (IAT) or Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Health, Sport and Food, unique nationwide.
The IAT will allow the transfer of knowledge and technologies generated by the University's teams to the industrial fabric and will enable the revitalization of more than 175 companies.
The Barcelona Industry Week today has become the platform for the presentation of the High Technology Incubator in Health, Sport and Food;
a project with which the UCAM goes one step further to achieve one of its priorities, contribute to the development and competitiveness of the regional and national industrial fabric.
Through this infrastructure, unique in the Region of Murcia, it will be possible to develop an incubation and acceleration methodology for business projects with highly advanced services, endowed with high technology and specialization, which will allow the transfer of knowledge among UCAM researchers, entrepreneurs and business fabric.
This is a direct and continuous support that will receive incubated and external companies, approximately 175, that will obtain training, awareness and awareness actions.
All this will be an important focus of attraction of talent and financial resources to the Region.
In the health area this incubator will allow the development of genetic and cellular therapies for the treatment of diseases, development of drugs through molecular modeling techniques or products and dental implants, among others.
In the area of ​​sports, sports equipment based on technology that optimizes performance and allows the recording of parameters of interest can be developed.
In the area of ​​food can be developed conservation systems that extend their useful life or design and develop healthier foods, rich in bioactive compounds, as well as water purification systems of various pollutants.
The executive director of the Technological Institute of Murcia (ITM) of the Catholic University, César Nicolás, in charge of presenting the IAT or Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Health, Sport and Food at the Barcelona Industry Week, stressed that "the specialization of this High Technology Incubator in these three areas of health, sports and food will create a common space where researchers, entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs can generate synergies that are embodied in ideas or concrete products, which reach the market and provide a competitive advantage for The companies involved The incubator will have specialized equipment, scientific and business advice, financing instruments, internationalization actions, registration and maintenance of patents and trademarks, computer and technological applications, among other supports ".
