The project, organized by the FASE Foundation, aims to develop skills to turn participants into autonomous, innovative and entrepreneurial people.
Each participant will carry out a social impact project that will start with the detection of a problem, for which a solution will be formulated;
After forming a team and designing an action plan, it will conclude with a national session in Madrid in May and an international session in the summer of 2019.
Murcia, for the first time will be part of the Spanish cities in which the Leader Code program is developed, aimed at training young women as global citizens and agents of change in their social and professional environment.
To achieve this, the project has three objectives: leadership in action, empowerment of women and sustainable development, which takes place over two years in ten Spanish cities.
The project was presented today by its two coordinators in Murcia, Belén de la Morena and Inma Fuentes, who have been accompanied by the councilors of Social Rights and Development Cooperation, Conchita Ruiz, and Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesus Pacheco, 'because the City Council will always support whatever actions are organized with the aim of advancing in the equality of opportunities between men and women'.
In this sense, Leader Code, promoted by the FASE Foundation, constitutes a leadership program that aims to train young people aged 14 to 18 as agents of change in their social and professional environment.
The program focuses on the development of personal competencies proposed by Harvard University for 21st century education to be autonomous, innovative and enterprising women.
It seeks the discovery of one's own talent and initiation in the management of social entrepreneurship and team leadership.
In this way, and to promote the empowerment of women, the program will aim to make each participant aware of their abilities and the impact their actions can have on society, as well as to increase women's participation in the processes of decision making and positions of responsibility.
On the other hand, Leader Code is allied with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2020.
