The Councilor for Infrastructure, Public Works and Services, Rebeca Pérez visited the Severo Ochoa de Los Garres School this morning to attend one of the 'Murcia sustainable city' school awareness talks, which along with Ferrovial Services are being held in the different school centers of the municipality.
This campaign is aimed at students of the second stage of primary education and aims to promote urban hygiene, sustainable management of waste and participation in the circular economy of schoolchildren through the prevention, reduction, reuse and recycling of waste that we produce daily.
These talks also educate with the slogan "Turn your waste into resources".
"We continue this campaign year after year because we are sure that an informed population is a more responsible population, and these students are the future and they have to be responsible for their day to day in terms of the waste they produce. learned in their family environment, turning them into our environmental agents of the present and the future "said Rebeca Pérez.
Last year participated in this initiative more than 15,000 students, the talks reached 5,027 students of 4th year and 5,027 fifth year belonging to 153 schools.
In addition, the waste treatment center of Cañada Hermosa has received almost 5,000 students from 116 schools.
This facility has also been seen during this period by almost a thousand people belonging to different groups.
Through this activity you get a very clear idea of ​​what happens after the truck has taken the waste, know the recycling chain, the environmental benefits involved and the fundamental role that all citizens have for participation in the circular economy.
