Hernandez appreciates the work of many social economy companies and groups that, "despite the fact that the PP in the City of Murcia does not make it easy for them, they continue to do an admirable job"

The Municipal Socialist Group recalls that since 2015 it has been mandatory for municipalities to offer a reserve of contracts for special employment centers, specifically those dedicated to social and labor insertion.

However, "despite being established by law and although we have been claiming since the beginning of the previous mandate, the government team has jumped to the bullfighter, so it is causing serious damage to many groups representing men and women of our municipality who do not have it at all easy when it comes to finding a job, "says the socialist spokeswoman, Susana Hernández.

Already in a motion of February 2017, the Municipal Socialist Group demanded that the City reserve contracts for special employment centers and for labor insertion companies, as established by the Public Sector Contracts Law after the amendment of the additional provision fifth in 2015

Hernandez also states that "we have requested on several occasions the inclusion of social clauses, but real social clauses, in addition to a reservation of contracts, because we have collectives such as Fundown, for example, which have special employment centers and could be occupied of the maintenance of a good number of parks and gardens, especially when we have around 3,000 green areas, according to the responsible councilor ".

Therefore, insists that "we lose a new opportunity with the maintenance contract for parks and gardens", since there is no such express reservation for special employment centers, as established by the Law.

The Socialist spokesperson clarifies that "the PP will hide behind the fact that the specifications state that the concession companies will subcontract to a special employment center, but that is cheating and a loss of functions by the government team, whose responsibility and commitment to comply with the Law does not consist in using intermediaries so that they are the ones who comply with it ", and adds that both the social clauses addressed to disadvantaged groups or in social exclusion, for the promotion of quality employment, of an environmental nature, fight against gender violence, promotion of youth participation, etc., as the reservation of contracts have a priority social component because they help to move towards a more just society "

Likewise, it criticizes that in January 2016 an ordinance for the regulation of criteria for applying these clauses was announced, which would help not to depend on the goodwill of one or the other councilor.

However, "like everything that is announced, we are still waiting."

Susana Hernández takes the opportunity to thank the work of many groups, whether social economy companies grouped in Ucomur (Union of Cooperatives of the Region of Murcia), or organizations to fight against poverty and social exclusion as Cáritas or Traperos de Emmaus, Fundown and Assido and "others who, despite the fact that the PP in the City of Murcia does not make it easy, continue doing an admirable job".
