The councilors of Social Rights and Development Cooperation, Conchita Ruiz, and Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, presented this morning the charity concert in favor of the association AFAMUR that will offer the basement of the doctor and Lady Ma Belle, who will interpret his new single 'I will be'.
All the proceeds of the same with the download of the song on digital platforms, as well as that obtained from the sale of tickets next Wednesday, will go entirely to AFAMUR (Association of relatives of Alzheimer's patients of the Region of Murcia ), whose president, María Teresa Palacín, has also attended the presentation, along with the members of both bands,
'The basement of the doctor' is a Murcian band that presents itself with a wide repertoire of Spanish pop rock from the 80s, an unforgettable era of Spanish music.
"Seré" is the new work of Lady Ma Belle, composed of 11 original songs and produced by Raúl de Lara.
A work with a very personal sound, in which pop crosses borders with indie, drawing a style of its own.
The concert will take place at the Romea Theater next Wednesday, October 17, and its tickets (of € 10 or € 15) can be purchased at 'Discos Tráfico', on Calle Victorio 35, next to the University of La Merced.
25 years of experience
The Association of Relatives of People with Alzheimer's in the Region of Murcia (AFAMUR) was born in 1993 to respond to the needs raised by relatives of people with dementia (information, guidance, resources, etc.).
In 2003 it began to provide day center services, with the priority goal is always to improve the quality of life of people with Alzheimer's and other dementias through non-pharmacological therapies.
The City of Murcia assigned to the association a plot of 1,835 m2 located on Velázquez street in "El Puntal", where it is planned to build a new day center with greater capacity that, at the same time, improve the center services in the municipality of Murcia.
One of the main advantages that will be derived from the new facilities of the day center will be to have an extensive garden that provides the enjoyment and use of many outdoor therapies, among them, gymnastics or physiotherapy, improvement of behavior disorders caused by the confinement, outdoor walks, application of sensory stimulation through sunlight, smell and natural sounds (orchard).
Likewise, it will be possible to unify in a facility all that is necessary to provide dignified services to the affected users, who currently have two different premises separated by a few meters, one for people with mild-moderate disease and others with moderate-advanced disease.
With the expansion of the center and the creation of new rooms, it will be possible to distribute the users in three groups: mild cognitive impairment, moderate cognitive impairment and advanced cognitive impairment.
Among the new services that it is planned to offer is the creation of, at least, two new workshops: Multisensory room and orchard or "huertoterapia".
In addition, a workshop of cognitive and motor stimulation for people with an early diagnosis who do not wish to be included in the day center mode will be organized two days a week.
