He adds that Larrosa 'knows perfectly that the bus lines of districts are not municipal competition and that they will be when the new transport system in which we are working starts up'
'It is clear that elections are approaching and the PSOE councilor has to resort to demagoguery to denounce situations that he knows are in the process of being resolved'.
This is how Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, councilor for Finance, Contracting and Urban Mobility, responded to Juan Vicente Larrosa, saying that he 'knows perfectly well that district bus lines do not belong to the municipality, but to the Autonomous Community;
knows perfectly well that they will be owned by the City Council as of December 2019;
and knows perfectly well that we are working on the new transport system that will govern the municipality and will encourage the change of competencies to be assumed by the local administration.
Martínez-Oliva emphasizes that 'we are working on it and receiving contributions because our will is to be agreed with the maximum possible consensus'.
The deficiencies presented by the current system will disappear when the new system is in operation.
"The PSOE councilor knows it perfectly, but as he sees the elections close, he says something else," he adds.
Remember also the head of Urban Mobility that the City is contributing to manage and finance agreements for the improvement of frequencies and recovery of lines of districts, 'although it is not our competence'.
'Any measure in transport is a matter of money and this comes from the Budgets, to which the PSOE voted against, although they included items for the improvement of lines 30, 78, 1, 91, 30, 7, 26 and 61. The City is going to make an effort to pay part of the deficit to the Autonomous Community because it benefits the neighbors of our municipality ', concludes Martínez-Oliva.
In addition, the municipal treasury contributes more than 17 million annually to reduce the cost of public transport for citizens.
"Given this, the PSOE votes against, but rises to the car of demagoguery to denounce situations that they know are in the process of solution," says the Popular Councilor.
