The Councilor for Infrastructure, Public Works and Services, Rebeca Pérez, visited this morning the IES Monte Miravete area of Torregüera to supervise the placement of 40 meters of dynamic screen, 4 meters high, to protect the educational center and its surroundings of the detachments that may occur.
The rains caused by the 'cold drop' in mid-September caused the release of several rocks in the vicinity of the institute, causing some damage to the outer fence of the center.
For this reason the screen has been placed, with a separation between posts of 10 meters, and an energy absorption capacity of 1,500 KJ.
The screen is formed by a network of steel rings mounted on metal poles to absorb the energy of the blocks of stone that can be detached from the slope.
It has some anchors in anchoring so that the protection is greater and absorbs all the energy.
"From the City of Murcia we are working to fix the damage caused, but also to prevent it from happening again." Along with the municipal technicians, the placement of these screens, considered as the best option to contain landslides of this type, has been valued The safety of our neighbors and young people in the municipality are our priority, "said Rebeca Pérez.
The amount of to carry out this action is 43,695.52 euros.
