The Department of Social Rights and Development Cooperation will allocate a budget of 104,000 euros to continue providing respite service to families with people with functional dependency in the municipality.
For this, the Government Board has approved this morning the award of the contract, which will last for seven months.
This program supposes a support for families with a dependent member in a situation of great dependence, for which it requires the continued attention of a primary caregiver, who bears an overload both for the amount of work involved and for the level of emotional stress that it involves.
It supposes, therefore, a specialized and quality resource that serves as help and support in the continued care that they have to provide.
This benefit allows you to substitute the care you provide so that the family or primary caregiver can be relieved.
This service, along with others such as Home Help and Home Telecare, is part of the Primary Care System of Social Services and favors the maintenance of people served in their usual environment of coexistence.
The provision of the service covers the personal care and accompaniment needed by the dependent person in the absence of family members, through professionals with specific training who will be responsible for providing the following tasks:
- Active company: keep conversation, reading, support.
- Accompaniment to walks and help to travel.
- Cleanliness, personal hygiene and mobilization.
- Food administration
- Administer oral medication as directed by family members and provide minimal care to the chronically ill.
- Accompaniment to cultural and leisure activities
The Respite Service to Families last year attended 83 people, with a total of 11,603 hours of annual service.
Currently, the number of people registered is 93.
The Governing Board has awarded this contract that will last seven months to the company Asistencia, Formación y Eventos, SL
