Socialist councilor Juan Vicente Larrosa regrets that hundreds of children are going to be forced to let practice their sport "to apply a criterion that has no reason to be" and accuses the PP of "not doing things as it should to promote the practice of sport among our youth "
A total of six municipal sports schools, specifically soccer, will stop serving by resolution of the City Council, which will make several hundred young people stop practicing their sport this season.
This fact is denounced by the socialist councilor Juan Vicente Larrosa, who regrets that this point has been reached "by applying a criterion that has no reason to be."
The City Council relies on the fact that, according to the School Sports section, it can be observed that the activity carried out by these entities is mostly made up of federated teams, which is not the specific purpose of the collaboration agreements for the development of schools. Sports
For this reason it has been decided to initiate the procedure for the resolution of said collaboration agreements and the affected clubs are given ten working days of deadline to present allegations.
"It is true that many of the students of the sports schools federate to compete, because what they want ultimately is to play games on weekends, but it is also true that there are also boys and girls who attend schools sports and then are not federated, "says Larrosa, who considers it" necessary "that the City promotes the activity of schools," that after all are a nursery of athletes from an early age, "he adds.
At the same time it highlights the "tremendous discomfort" that the measure has aroused among those affected, clubs that have provided the required documentation regarding the staff that provides the activity and the number of students, in addition to the updated liability insurance, such and as they have done in all previous years.
The mayor of the PSOE criticizes the councilor of Sports and Health, the popular Felipe Coello, for giving rise to this happening in the municipality, a problem that is linked to that generated by the imposition of "abusive" fees to clubs for using sports facilities municipal ownership in Murcia, "which has already led to several clubs stop competing, as are the cases of the Sports Club Pool and the Alquerías Sports Association, which have not registered their teams in the regional category," recalls Larrosa.
"Sports schools are educational tools that generate in children values of camaraderie, teamwork and competitiveness that are not obtained elsewhere. We regret that Councilman Coello, instead of encouraging the practice of sport, what comes doing in these years is to abandon it and get young people and now children away from him.It is seen that the PP is not doing things as it should, "he concludes.
