The spokesman of the Murcia municipal group, Nacho Tornel, criticized today that the PP bet "decidedly" to increase the amounts allocated to private and concerted education while the public schools of the municipality "are in a clear state of abandonment for years ".
Tornel has reacted like this in relation to the fires registered in the last days in two educative centers of public ownership, one of them the one of Santa Maria de Gracia, that has motivated the mobilization of the parents and mothers to demand the renovation of the "obsolete ones " electrical installations.
"The autonomous government has allocated 233 million euros this year to private-concerted education. The Region of Murcia leads together with Madrid spending on this type of centers while the public have more than poor infrastructure that endanger security of the students ", the councilor explained.
In reference to the statements made at the opening of this school year by the Minister of Education and the Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, on the need to reward the excellence and quality of students, Tornel has called "curious" that the rulers "demand" when their management of educational policy "deserves a suspense".
Multi-year plan to renovate the facilities
Tornel has advanced that his group is working on a motion for the City Council and the Autonomous Community to promote a multi-year plan to renew and reinforce the electrical installations, as well as the inspection and modernization of educational spaces to adapt it to the needs of the students and the faculty.
