The Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Murcia has reelected Professor Pedro Lozano as dean for the next four years.
In the elections held on Tuesday, October 2, the professor obtained a majority support from the Faculty Board with 97 votes in favor, 3 against and 5 blank.
Pedro Lozano, professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, said he was "very satisfied with the broad support received by the Faculty, which indicates that the balance of these four years is very positive, some years in which we have improved the image and the projection of the Faculty of Chemistry ".
Among the challenges that are put for the mandate that begins now, Lozano emphasizes to continue working and improving the criteria and quality parameters of the degrees taught at the center, as well as "persevere so that the Faculty that is about to meet the 80th anniversary of his first promotion remains one of the benchmarks of the University of Murcia. "
Among the most immediate objectives is the organization on 11 February an international congress 'Women and periodic table', which will be framed in the acts of the International Year of the periodic table.
Together with Pedro Lozano they will be part of the decanal team of the Faculty of Chemistry
