The Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesús Pacheco, accompanied by the Deputy Director of Training for Employment, José Tomás Piñera, and the director of the plant EXPAL Propellants Systems in Javalí Viejo, Pedro López, attended this morning the closing of the Producer Manufacturing Operator Course, subsidized by the Regional Employment and Training Service and carried out in collaboration with the company EXPAL.
Thanks to the signing of the collaboration agreement between this company and the City of Murcia, 13 people have been trained as operators of Producers (2 women and 11 men), who may work as operators in chemical or pharmaceutical, cosmetic or related plants .
The propellers - with applications in both the civil and defense sectors - are a technology considered strategic by the most advanced countries in the world.
This training program has the peculiarity that there is EXPAL's commitment to hire 60% of the students who successfully pass the training program, designed to respond to the demands and requirements of the company.
The practical part has been given in the facilities of the company, in Javalí Viejo, and the theoretical part in facilities provided by the Caja Fontes Association, from the same district.
In this innovative project, undertaken by the Employment Service, the Regional Employment and Training Service has collaborated in the design and adaptation of the training program, supervised by the National Chemistry Reference Center of Cartagena.
The Employment Service, in its objective to improve the qualification of the unemployed people of the municipality, will continue planning for 2019 new formative actions that improve their employability opportunities, in addition to providing orientation services and active job search.
Councilman Jesus Pacheco, explained that "the objectives of this program are the labor insertion of the group of unemployed workers and their training to train them in achieving the necessary training adapted to the job demanded by EXPAL.
The EXPAL plant in Javalí Viejo develops and manufactures energetic material and propellants for civil and military use.
Since 2010, when it assumed the management of the factory, the company has invested in these facilities more than € 10 million to include substantial improvements such as new production lines, new methodologies and manufacturing processes and a unique Technological Center of Propellants in the south of Europe.
In the Technological Center of Propellants, inaugurated in July 2015, R & D projects are carried out in this strategic technology, with applications in the civil and defense sectors, such as: gunpowder with low smoke generation or low propellants vulnerability and greater benefits.
