The University of Murcia (UMU) presents the winner of the 2012 National Comic Award with his work Dublinés, Alfonso Zapico, who will give the talk 'Drawing the story'.
During the talk, Zapico will talk about the graphic novel as an ideal means to facilitate the understanding of complex issues such as the Arab world.
The lecturer, who is grateful for the invitation of the UMU said that "it has been achieved that the comic enters the university, which demonstrates its maturity as a means and its versatility.It is an honor that the UMU opens its doors" .
The conference, which will take place on September 27 at 8:00 p.m. at the Regional Library of Murcia, will be attended by José Antonio Gómez, coordinator of the Cómic Reading Club of the School of Communication and Documentation of the UMU, and Juan Monzó Cabrera, General Director of Universities and Research (CARM).
The speaker has had the generosity of making the drawing of the posters announcing, in which the campus of the Mercy of the UMU appears in the background.
At the end of the conference, the Murcian music group Bosco, which has just presented its latest work, will offer a concert.
This activity, which takes place in the framework of the First International Day of the Comic and the Arab World: knowledge and intervention tool is directed by the professors of the University of Murcia Catalina Guerrero and Pilar Garrido.
In addition, it has the collaboration of the CMN Campus of International Excellence, the Al Fanar Foundation for Arabic Knowledge and the Regional Library of Murcia, through its comicteca.
On the 27th, in the morning, the Conference will begin with an international forum on pedagogical and informative training and innovation, whose objective will be to facilitate the interaction, cooperation and transfer of different joint activities on comics as a tool to bring knowledge closer from the Arab world: "We are going to combine the use of comics with new methodologies that interrelate disciplines as varied as translation, dissemination, education and art", explain the academic directors.
The meeting, which will take place in the Jorge Guillén Classroom of the Faculty of Letters, will be attended by Zapico himself, the president of the Al Fanar Foundation, Pedro Rojo, and the professors of the UMU Pilar Garrido, Pedro Hellín, José Antonio Gómez, Delfina Roca, Leonor María Ruiz and Catalina Guerrero.
The services of the UMU involved in the development of this action have been the Unit of Scientific Culture and Innovation (UCC + i), Campus Mare Nostrum (CMN), the Faculty of Communication and Documentation, the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of letters.
