Paqui Pérez: "Most of the twelve municipal summer pools are not accessible, nor do they have green spaces, they hardly have shadow areas and do not have equipment"
The mayor Paqui Perez will present a motion in the plenary on Thursday demanding the local government that, next summer, the repairs and improvements needed to start the twelve municipal swimming pools (Murcia Park, Aljucer, La Ñora , Rincon de Seca, Sangonera La Verde, Sangonera La Seca, Espinardo, El Palmar, Bacons Bridge, Alquerías, El Raal and Corvera) become more pleasant spaces and are accessible for users with reduced mobility, since most of them does not have chairs adapted for the bathroom.
After visits made by the orange training to these municipal facilities, Perez has lamented that "we have found a large number of pools desolate, left and battered by time and lack of maintenance."
"The night assaults and damages by vandalism occur very frequently in virtually all facilities, something that would be solved with a video surveillance system," he said.
Other deficiencies detected refer to the lack of green spaces, lack of shade areas and equipment (umbrellas, chairs, tables, hammocks), "which causes, according to the councilor of Cs," that municipal swimming pools become in a real ordeal when the neighbors venture to spend the day in their facilities. "
Activity program
Another initiative that the mayor of the orange training will ask to be included in this modernization plan is a program of sports activities aimed at children, young people and adults (swimming, aquagym, child psychomotricity, etc.).
In short, Perez concluded, "a comprehensive plan to make pools more comfortable and prepared for the bathroom, energy efficient and where you can perform water activities in the early morning and late afternoon."
