This is the most important milestone in terms of policies to support the electric vehicle carried out by the City Council, which includes a total of 50 measures that aim to reduce polluting emissions.
The Local Strategy of the Electric Vehicle of the Municipality of Murcia 2017-2019 has been recognized with the 'Renault Award for the best practice in Sustainable and Accessible Mobility', in the category of Public Administration.
The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, will gather this evening in Madrid this award in an act that will feature the Minister of Ecological Transition, Teresa Ribera.
The Local Strategy of the Electric Vehicle is the most important milestone in terms of policies to support the electric vehicle carried out so far in the City, which includes a total of 50 measures that aim to reduce polluting emissions in Murcia.
The event, which will take place this afternoon, starting at 7:00 p.m., at the Génova Financial Club, will also distinguish the Company, University Woman, Pyme and Foundation that have stood out for their contribution to sustainable mobility.
Local Strategy: a roadmap to curb climate change
The City Council of Murcia proposes the Electric Vehicle Strategy as a roadmap whose objectives are the promotion of sustainable mobility, energy saving and the reduction of emissions through the reduction of the impact on climate change.
Among the battery of measures included in this document, driven by the Department of Urban Planning, Environment and Garden, the following stand out:
· Thirty electrical vehicle charging points, distributed by gas stations, shopping centers and public car parks.
From the City Council is promoting a public network of charging points, enabling new semi-speedy 'electroling stations'.
· Subsidies, up to 50% of the purchase price, for the purchase of electric vehicles.
· Reservation of 50 exclusive parking spaces for electric vehicles whose occupation or availability is monitored through an App and with the exception of the ORA payment.
· Acquisition of 30 electric vehicles for the maintenance of the Parks and Gardens of the municipality.
· Acquisition of 21 electric vehicles and 29 propelled by natural gas for street cleaning and collection.
· 27 transport buses of Murcia (the whole) powered by Gas Natural.
· New rental system for 114 electric motorcycles.
· 18 km tram.
To which is added:
· Construction, during the last two years, of 18 km of bike lane and other 12 that are underway and that cross the city center, which add to the nearly 100 km already built.
· Installation of 1,406 forks for bicycle parking throughout the municipality.
· Installation of 60 bicycle rental stations with more than 600 bicycles available.
