The socialist mayor Sebastian Peñaranda says that the Department of Finance "cacharizes the freezing of municipal taxes when it is appropriate to reduce the tax pressure once the accounts of the Consistory have been settled with several years of surplus"
The Municipal Socialist Group has reacted to the announcement made by the councilor of Finance, the popular Eduardo Martinez Oliva, who said he would keep frozen taxes and fees for the sixth consecutive year, while noting that the City plans to enter 277 million in 2019 .
"It sounds strange and paradoxical that boasts of freezing taxes being in the bud the rise of the IBI (cadastral value) which is an increase in the resumption of more than 450,000 euros," recognizes the PSOE councilor Sebastián Peñaranda, who adds that "surprises that the freezing of municipal taxes be cackled when what corresponds is to reduce the tax pressure once the Consistory accounts carry several consecutive surpluses ".
According to Peñaranda, "the PP applies taxes to the tuntún that do not fix a progressive collection taking into account the family income and that adjust without paying attention to if there is a deficit or surplus".
The PSOE mayor recalls that the Popular Party has failed to comply with the agreements reached to launch the Social IBI, which was proposed at the proposal of the Socialists in the City Council, "demonstrating the team of Mayor Ballesta his lack of sensitivity to neighbors and the neighbors of Murcia who have difficulties to pay their taxes ".
Also points out that economic facilities could be given to citizens to access, for example, sports and cultural activities and send another message to the Department: "Must wake up and claim more regional and national funding, as do other municipalities, and do not fall back excessive collection on the neighbors ".
