In addition to education and canteen services for children between 0 and 3 years old, this space will function as a Work and Family Life Reconciliation Center, from which minors between 3 and 12 years old can benefit.
The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the councilors of Education, Relations with Universities and Heritage, Rafael Gómez, and Social Rights and Development Cooperation, Conchita Ruiz, visited today the El Lugarico Municipal Children's School, which has started its activity a few days ago.
This Infant School, with education and dining service is a representation of the Network of Infant Schools of the City of Murcia, which serve 527 children, in a total of 44 classrooms, with a staff of more than 75 workers including educators, teachers, chefs, etc.
Specifically, the mayor said that the El Lugarico Municipal School, located in the hamlet of El Palmar, "welcomes 56 girls and boys, although we intend to expand the seats to 100 students for next year" and explained that " the Infant School of La Paz, which next year will premiere new facilities, is the one that more children attend with more than a hundred ".
Like all the Infantile Schools of the municipality, this one of El Palmar can go children of different localities.
Both the Education and the Dining services have quotas that adapt to the purchasing power of families, with reductions of up to 80% of the cost for families that need it.
In addition, this space will function as a Conciliation Center outside school hours, in the coming months, that is, in addition to the part of Children's School of the Department of Education, for children from 0 to 3 years, the Department of Social Rights will implement the Conciliation Program, which can benefit children between 3 and 12 years.
"From the City Council we will continue to work to improve this service of early childhood education and reconciliation of family and work life, which has a high social profitability," said the mayor.
The Conciliation program is designed for parents who work or are looking for work and need this service so that their children receive specialized attention throughout the year, outside school hours.
