The Old Bridge will be tonight the scene of a show of light, music and words that will commemorate the 300th anniversary of the beginning of its construction, which took place on September 10, 1718, exactly three centuries ago today.
With Baroque music and a repertoire of works by composers of the stature of Santiago de Murcia and Sebastián Durón, the didactic spectacle will go through the history of the bridge through seven curiosities.
It will be from 9:00 pm, and the event will be attended by the Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, members of the Municipal Corporation, the City Chronicler and journalist, Antonio Botías, and festive groups of the municipality.
Why is it called Puente de los Peligros, the keys to its longevity, the difficulties of its construction, its connection with the Cathedral, the legends that chronicle the chronicles of eighteenth-century Murcia, the protection of Virgen de los Peligros and its encounter with the Fuensanta every Pilgrimage or treasures that hides its first stone, are some of the events that will narrate the show tonight.
