From September 6 to 8 will be held in the Hall of Degrees of the Faculty of Education of the University of Murcia the XVIII International Congress of Historic Education Days "Historical awareness and controversy: the social work of history", which will address issues such as identity and heritage, the teaching of the history of indigenous and Afro-descendant peoples, the training of teachers to teach difficult stories or the teaching of history in times of post-truth and sectarianism.
The congress is committed to teaching history where multivocal and intercultural communication prevail, as well as the role played by social, cultural and political contexts in the creation of historical narrative in classrooms.
The initiative includes a tribute to Professor Dolinha Schmidt, professor at the Federal University of Paraná (Brazil), specialized in culture and teaching and Historical Education.
The activity is organized by the group DICSO (Didactics of Social Sciences) of the University of Murcia.
