The Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesús Pacheco, will attend this afternoon the presentation of the third album of the Cuadrilla de Torreagüera entitled 'De basil and dill' that will take place in Los Molinos del Río at 7:00 p.m.
In total, the record includes 22 pieces with which the Cuadrilla de Torreagüera continues to recover the musical repertoires of the orchard and the field of Murcia.
The interest, according to José López Espín, president of the Cuadrilla and co-author of the script that accompanies the album, is not "commercial, but rather testimonial and exemplary, so that future scholars and performers know the true elements that make up the musical customs Murcia, and can contribute to its continuity. "
According to Alberto Hidalgo, violinist of the cuadrilla and researcher of popular music and dance, the title 'De basil y dill' gathers the words with which JB Miralles described, in the press of 1902, the dance performed by the school of Francisco Alarcón during one of the usual exhibitions that took place during the September holidays.
During the presentation of the album, the group will accompany the interpretation of their repertoire with dances.
