The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Traffic, Security and Citizen Protection, Lola Sánchez, attended today the meeting of the Local Safety Board, which addressed the special protection device on the occasion of the Fair of September.
The City Council has drawn up a Special Protection Plan for the upcoming holidays, whose main objective is to ensure the safety of citizens of Murcia and visitors, so they can enjoy the holidays with tranquility.
The Specific Protection Plan is structured in six sections:
- Special service device in the Fica fairgrounds: a dozen police officers will monitor this area with a specific character, patrol constantly and equipped with a police vest that facilitates identification.
If necessary, they would have the support of the ordinary service, in addition to the reinforcements that are deemed appropriate.
In addition, a Mobile Police Service Office will be installed to serve as a point of reference for citizens as information, enabling the provision of as many services as the visitor requires.
In this device, Civil Protection also intervenes, which will distribute bracelets to the children to write down a contact telephone so that in case of loss of the child it can be located and communicate it immediately to the parents or tutors, Firemen and Red Cross.
- Pilgrimage Device 2018: This is the most multitudinous act of the fair so the Department will allocate the total of its available cash.
- Moros y Cristianos Devices: Its main parades take place through Plaza Martínez Tornel, Plano San Francisco and Gran Vía Salzillo, so the Local Police will cut traffic in their surroundings, proceeding to make provisional detours through the main rounds of the city.
- Devices for special events: In all the musical acts that take place on the occasion of the 2018 Fair, police service will be provided to ensure the safety of those attending it.
As in the service of the attractions of the Fica, these police officers will be equipped with a reflective police vest that facilitates their identification.
- Device in Los Huertos and Medieval Camp: another mobile police attention office will be installed, complementing the protection service (patrol on foot), allowing a closer approach of the Local Police to the neighbors and visitors who go to the Malecón Garden, providing in this way a better and more effective information and help service.
In addition, and as a complement to the police officers assigned to each of the events or festive events that make up this year's Special Fair Device, 16 non-uniformed agents will be assigned to La Fica (4), the Orchards (4) and in large parades (8).
This action has as its fundamental objective to increase the effectiveness of the regular service that uniforms patrol, especially before certain criminal types related to crimes against property such as theft, theft and crimes against intellectual and industrial property.
As a novelty, this year within the campaign 'No Is No', promoted by the City of Murcia with the aim of getting a party free of sexual assault, will have the installation of Violet Points that will be served by staff of the Care Center Integral to Victims of Aggression and / or Sexual Abuse, Civil Protection and Local Police of Murcia.
