The Mayor José Ballesta, accompanied by the Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, received this morning and delivered a commemorative plaque to the President of the Club Murcia Remo, Manuel Rincon, after the success of this team in the Sprint Master World Championship of canoeing for veterans, held last week in the Portuguese city of Montemor or Velho.
The members of the club Carlos Cano, Mykola Dymakov, Gerardo Hueva and Enrique Gambidia also attended the ceremony held in the Plenary Hall.
The Murcia team's paddlers have won a total of five medals in this intercontinental event: Manuel Rincon has been proclaimed as world champion in mixed 500-meter K2;
Manuel Rincón and Carlos Cano have won the bronze in K2 of 1,000 meters;
Mykola Dymakov has won bronze in both C1 of 1,000 meters and C2 of 1,000 metyros;
Luis Hueva has achieved the silver medal in K2 of 1,000 meters;
while the team consisting of Luis Hueva, Gerardo Hueva, Lucas Albadalejo and Ventura Guillén, have achieved the silver in K4 of 500 meters.
Ballesta highlighted "the effort, work and determination of the paddlers that has managed to take the name of Murcia to the top, making a city brand, through sports, a social reference for the values ​​it conveys".
