The Contracting Committee of the City Council, chaired by Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, has advanced today a new step in the process of awarding contracts to build three new projects of bike lanes in the city: Rector Loustau Avenue, Bishop Frutos and Ronda Garay ;
in the surroundings of the historic center of Murcia;
and in Ronda Sur and connection to Pío Baroja Avenue.
The planned investment amounts to € 1,015,893, for a total route of 5,145 meters and a deadline of five months.
The lanes will be segregated from sidewalks and roadways for most of the route, their width is 2.5 meters in the bidirectional sections and 1.80 meters in unidirectional sections, will be marked and marked vertically and horizontally and interconnected to form a network meshed
The agreement of the Contracting Committee supposes the requirement of documentation to the three companies proposed to execute these works:
- Lot 1: Execution of bike lane on Avda. Rector Loustau, Bishop Frutos and Ronda de Garay.
Proposed successful bidder: Serrano Aznar Obras Públicas SLU
- Lot 2: Execution of bike lane around the historic center of Murcia, phase I. Proposed successful bidder: Construcciones Urdecón SA
- Lot 3: Execution of bike lane in Ronda Sur and connection to Avda. Pío Baroja.
Proposed successful bidder: Obras y Servicios Públicos SA
The first one runs through the Avenida Rector Loustau, Bishop Frutos and Ronda Garay, connecting in Juan XXIII with the bike lane already bidding that runs from the Auditorium to the Plaza Circular, while in the south it links with the one that transits the avenue Intendente Jorge Palacios, whose project is in writing.
It will reach a length of 1,280 meters, the execution time is estimated at 4 months and the budget amounts to € 398,182.
Regarding the bike path in the vicinity of the historic center of Murcia, it has been divided into two axes, each one of them in one direction.
Thus, the South Axis runs from the intersection of Baritono Marcos Redondo street with Gran Vía Escultor Salzillo, Maestro Alonso, Santa Clara, Enrique Villar and University Square, until finishing at Rector Loustau avenue.
For its part, the North Axis begins at the intersection of Avenida Rector Loustau with Dr. Tapia Sanz Street and continues through Gutiérrez Mellado, Jaime I and Jerónimo de Roda.
The length of this route is 1,605 meters and the execution time is 3 months.
The budget amounts to € 109,633.
Finally, the third project will expand the network of cyclable roads to the south of the city.
Its route begins in Ronda Sur, on the bridge of the FICA, where it joins the bike path Plaza Circular - FICA and arrives at the intersection with Avenida Los Dolores.
There are two more axes that run along San Juan de la Cruz avenue and Vicente Aleixandre street and connect with the bike path Rector Loustau, Obispo Frutos and Ronda Garay, through the Pío Baroja avenue.
The layout will have a length of 2,260 meters, the execution time of 5 months and the budget amounts to € 508,077.
The three projects are co-financed by 80% by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) within the framework of the Operational Program for Sustainable Growth.
