The delegate of the Government, Diego Conesa, has assured that the arrival of the underground AVE finally begins to be a reality after the tender of the works that the BOE publishes today.

Diego Conesa explained that this is the last one that was needed to start the underground works in the city of Murcia and that they will complete the integral burial of the railway infrastructure.

This project foresees an intermediate phase for the underground arrival of High Speed ​​at elevation -8 meters from Santiago El Mayor to the current station, to enable the commissioning of Long Distance and Commuter trains.

The completion of this phase is expected within 15 months from the start of the works.

This will allow the AVE to arrive buried by the end of 2020.

Specifically, the implementation of the integration projects of the Murcia del Carmen and Barriomar station, and of Nonduermas, with a budget of 290,255,606.39 euros, and an estimated execution time of 36 months for the first one, has been tendered. and 27 months for the burial of Nonduermas.

The project includes the execution of a new station that will provide service to the new underground routes and the execution of an intermediate phase that will allow the underground arrival of the High Speed ​​at the so-called level -8 meters, while the underground railway corridor is executed of Barriomar.
