In Nonduermas, the project foresees the burying of the infrastructure in a length of 800 m
The Official State Gazette (BOE) publishes today the tender, by the Ministry of Development, through Adif Alta Velocidad (Adif AV), of the works that will complete the integral burial of railway infrastructure in the city of Murcia.
Specifically, the implementation of the integration projects of the Murcia del Carmen and Barriomar stations, and of Nonduermas, for an amount, excluding VAT, of 252,838,458.04 euros (this amount includes the estimated value of the supplies and services provided by Adif AV).
The bidding budget for the works, including VAT, rises to 290,255,606.39 euros, with an estimated execution time of 36 months for the burial of the station and Barriomar and 27 months for the Nonduermas project.
The performance at the Carmen and Barriomar stations includes the construction of an underground section of 2,830 m, from the Las Miajas Track in the Nonduermas-Barriomar area, until it is connected to the works currently underway in the area of Santiago El Mayor and the Senda de los Garres.
The project includes the execution of a new station that will serve the new underground routes and which is located on the covering slab, as well as the urbanization annexed to the building itself and the execution of an intermediate phase that will allow the underground arrival of the Alta Speed at the so-called level -8 m, while the burial of the Barriomar railway corridor is executed.
The new station will serve the Cercanías, Media and Larga Distancia trains and the projected building will replace the current, which will be kept in the same location for other uses.
The new building will occupy an approximate area of 4,400 m2.
The technical solution adopted for its construction takes into account as main factors the flows of entry and exit of passengers, the separation between users of Cercanías and Long Distance, the creation of a large lobby with lots of natural light and the relationship with exterior spaces.
These conditions, together with the desire to have an urban presence, allow the future building to be approached at the northern end of the sector, facilitating pedestrian access for passengers from the current Industria Street, reserving the southern half of the plot for surface parking.
In this way, it is possible that, in the future, the car park will be solved underground, freeing space on the surface for the construction of a bus station.
According to the projected planning, the execution process comprises an intermediate phase for the underground arrival of the High Speed at elevation -8 m from Santiago El Mayor (Alicante side) up to the current station, to enable the commissioning of the Long Distance trains and Cercanías that connect on the east side.
The completion of this phase is expected within 15 months from the start of the works.
In this intermediate phase, two underground platforms will be available, one for Long Distance to the north and another for Cercanías to the south, and two platforms will be maintained on the surface that will serve the Cercanías trains on the Lorca side and that will also cover maintenance functions .
Once this phase of dismantling the provisional detour, in operation since Sunday July 29 to ensure the continuity of rail traffic.
Once the intermediate phase is executed, the integration works will continue with the execution of the undergrounding on the west side, until the Lane of Miajas, replacing this road as well as the rest of the level steps located on the covering slab.
The entire stretch between the start and the station is formed by double track, one of mixed width and one of standard width, while in the area of the station have planned up to 7 tracks, 4 standard width and 3 mixed width.
On the other hand, in the final situation the underground route destined for the traffic of goods will be located to the south, and will be separated from the rest by a concrete screen.
The project also foresees the execution of emergency exits in the underground section every 1,000 meters maximum, while in the station they will be located every 100 meters.
Regarding the track assembly, this will be done through the installation of 60 kg / m rail, polyvalent sleepers for track in plate, as well as 19 track devices.
Integration in Nonduermasmas
This action contemplates the adaptation of the current railway corridor to make high-speed and conventional-width circulations compatible, generating a dual-track platform suitable for speeds of up to 200 km / h for passenger trains and 100 km / h for goods.
The projected route, which gives continuity to the burial of Barriomar, has a length of 2,503.8 m, with the assembly of two tracks, the left in standard width and the right in mixed width.
The main structures to be executed will consist of two false tunnels, the first one of a length of approximately 500 m to allow the burying of the high-speed line and the current Chinchilla-Cartagena line under the hamlet of Nonduermas, achieving greater integration of the railway as it passes through this urban area.
The second tunnel, of about 344 m, will connect with the underground section of the station and Barriomar, minimizing the effects on neighboring urban areas.
The execution of the works will also include the replacement of all the services that are affected during the execution of the works.
