In response to the statements of the Mayor-Pedáneo of Sangonera la Verde where people from El Palmar are incriminated in a fight during the festivities of the aforementioned district, from Cambiemos El Palmar we issued the following statement:
After the "multi-day fights" that took place in the early hours of Thursday, August 2, we were able to find out through the Diario La Opinion of Murcia the unfortunate statements of Sangonera La Verde's peduncle mayor, Juan Jiménez (PP), in which he accuses and incriminates to neighbors of El Palmar, declaring that "the disturbances were provoked by people who were not from the town, specifically by some kids who live in El Palmar and who came with kitchen knives".
However, he later specified that "the knives did not come out."
From Cambiemos El Palmar we consider out of place the statements of Pedáneo Juan Jiménez, whose job is not to make judgments about people or incriminate a neighboring town like El Palmar in the incidents that occur during their holidays.
These statements do not contribute to the existing coexistence between two border districts such as Sangonera la Verde and El Palmar.
Ana Serrano, vocal of Cambiemos Murcia in the Municipal Board of El Palmar reminds Juan Jiménez that during the Sangonera festivities a Violet Point was installed, with the aim of serving as a point of reference both to offer information and for any woman to be able to approaching for help if necessary, which was taken care of thanks to the altruistic work of the volunteers and volunteers of El Palmar.
In addition to attending at that point, rounds were made by the fairgrounds and adjacent areas with poor lighting and no police presence, including the authorized bottle area.
