Adrián Ruiz, student of the Degree in Physiotherapy at the Catholic University of Murcia, has been chosen to represent Spain in Buenos Aires by winning the national phase of the 'Young Change Makers', an international project sponsored in Spain by Bridgestone in coordination with the IOC .

Adrián Ruiz (Calasparra, Murcia), 26, has been the winner of the 'Young Change Makers', a program that aims to involve young people in the improvement of the environment through sports, so it will be the ambassador of the Spanish Olympic Committee in the Youth Olympic Games, to be held in October in Buenos Aires (Argentina).

There he will perform various tasks such as accompanying athletes and coaches to different activities, acting as a translator, participating in the organization of events that encourage team spirit and transfer suggestions to the IOC and the COE on how to improve the Olympic Youth Games in future editions .

Adrián has been chosen among more than forty applicants thanks to his project to promote canoeing in the Region of Murcia.

With it, it intends to take advantage of the Segura river or the Mar Menor to practice this sport, as well as to bring it closer to the greatest possible number of people.

"In addition, I proposed applying the knowledge I already have in Physiotherapy and CAFD, and acting as a translator to make the experience of athletes as enriching as possible and that they themselves are the transmitters of the values ​​of Olympism," he argues. her project.

The Catholic University of Murcia carried out the first selection process of which there were eight candidates, and Bridgestone and the COE chose the winner among the finalists.

This is a pioneering edition in Spain, since it is the first time that it has been carried out in our country with the collaboration of the COI, the COE and Bridgestone, the world's number one company in tire manufacturing, which is also Olympic Sponsor World.
