The Councilor for Traffic and Public Safety, Lola Sánchez and the Councilor for Education, Relations with Universities and Heritage, Rafael Gómez, accompanied by technicians, visit the CEIP Puente Doñana of the Albatalía.
On July 1, the special security plan that will be developed until September in 172 educational centers (163 schools and 9 institutes) was launched to prevent vandalism, theft and consumption of alcoholic beverages and drugs.
This plan is carried out since summer 2015 and is repeated every summer.
In total there are 60 agents that, both in the urban area and in the districts, travel the designed routes (2 in the city and 8 in districts) covering 24 hours a day, although intensifying the surveillance during the night and the ends of week, given that, as has been proven, are the times in which more criminal or vandalism activities occur in schools and institutes.
To date, some 1,800 inspections have been carried out, with incidents occurring in four centers: two located in districts (breakage of windowpanes and bottles and noise), and the other two in the city (bottles, noise and attempted theft).
Although all teaching centers are monitored, preferential attention is given to those with the greatest potential risk due to the location of the center, the existing background in relation to this problem and the information gathered from the Neighborhood Boards, associations of parents, directors of the neighborhood centers and associations.
With these surveillance and control tasks, the aim is to prevent damage and ensure that the facilities are in perfect condition when the course begins.
The Local Police has contacted all the people in charge of the educational centers informing them of their objective and requesting their collaboration by providing the access keys to the external enclosures, in such a way that the interventions that require entering them are simplified.
