FAMDIF brings together 27 children with and without disabilities to participate in a 5-day camp thanks to the nearly 20 volunteers who attend.
These activities are framed within the collaboration agreement between the City of Murcia and FAMDIF for which a grant of 20,000 euros is granted
The Councilor for Social Rights and Cooperation, Conchita Ruiz, said goodbye this morning to the children who leave for the summer camps of the Association Auxilia Murcia, a camp made possible thanks to the support of the City of Murcia and Cajamurcia Foundation.
Today the summer camps begin in San Pedro del Pinatar for 27 children with and without disabilities, from 9 years old, from the municipality of Murcia.
In the camp, which will last for 5 days and will be supported by 19 volunteers.
Conchita Ruiz has stated that these camps foster coexistence among children who participate, and it is essential to highlight the work of volunteers and the association that belongs to FAMDIF COCEMFE, the Federation of Murcia Associations of People with Physical and Organic Disability, which allow , through leisure, sports and cultural spaces, the social and cultural integration of the youngest ones ".
Collaboration between FAMDIF COCEMPE and the City of Murcia
This action is part of the collaboration agreement with the Federation of Murcia Associations of People with Physical and Organic Disability (FAMDIF / COCEMPE) by which the City of Murcia grants a grant amounting to 20,000 euros for the development of the Project of Leisure and Free Time Activities in vacation spaces for young people with Physical and Organic Disability.
This aid is intended to provide young people who are part of the federation, especially those with reduced mobility, leisure and free time activities that favor their personal autonomy and self-esteem, given the lack of public and private opportunities that are they find when they try to access them;
and on the other hand support families, offering a space of respite for caregivers.
Within the framework of this project, four different camps will be carried out for young people and children with disabilities.
In them, learning, recreational, recreational, sports and cultural workshops will be held.
The Councilor for Social Rights and Cooperation has reported that "all activities will be carried out during the holiday period, scheduled from May to October 2018. In addition, it is expected that a total of 71 young people with physical disabilities will participate, and it is planned to have with 64 volunteers and support staff, indirect beneficiaries being around 510 relatives who will be provided with family respite ".
