"We want the green areas of the city to be living, meeting and enjoyment places for all citizens and all ages," commented José Guillén.
The City of Murcia, together with the concessionaire STV, is carrying out the provision of 'food' and mowing for the more than 700,000 square meters of existing grass meadows.
In summers the work of lawn mowing intensifies, since at this time it grows with greater intensity.
Until September, it is planned to harvest 10,773,000 m2 of grassland, equivalent to approximately 1,250 football fields.
Among the districts where most work will be La Alberca, Churra, Guadalupe, Bacons Bridge, Cabezo de Torres, El Puntal, El Palmar.
The fertilizer used is slow release, which promotes the root development that these green areas need to face the summer period.
"The objective of the Department of Modernization of the Administration and Urban Quality is to get green grass meadows with a characteristic green color, prepared for the enjoyment of all neighbors. We intend that the green areas of the city are living, meeting places of all citizens "commented José Guillén.
These works are carried out by more than a dozen teams, a total of thirty people, by each and every one of the different green areas of the municipality of Murcia.
To do this, it has state-of-the-art machinery that allows the meadows to have a green and adequate appearance.
The Park and Garden Service continues to review each and every one of the different spaces and green areas that both Murcia and its different districts have.
