Pacheco: 'In the end it turns out we have a wall and we do not have AVE' (20/07/2018)

'The PSOE shows that they are not pro-underground, they are anti-AVE', underlines the Deputy Spokesperson of the PP

The Deputy Speaker of the Popular Group, Jesus Pacheco, has denounced that, after the meeting yesterday of Murcia High Speed, 'it turns out that we have a wall and we do not have AVE;

that we will have closed the pass at the level of Santiago El Mayor, and we will not have AVE;

that the neighborhoods are isolated, and we will not have AVE;

that the rest of the phases that were going to be tendered a month ago, are not, and that we still have no AVE '.

The decision, which only counted with the vote in favor of people who are not from Murcia and the two socialist representatives, shows that "the change responds exclusively to political criteria," added Pacheco, who insists that "neither Murcia nor the residents of the affected neighborhoods will get no benefit. '

He added that 'they confirm that they are not pro-burial, they are anti-AVE'.

In this regard, he assured that "the only ones who benefit from the change of course are the detractors of the AVE", since the "wall" is maintained, the level crossing of Santiago El Mayor is closed, the walkway continues, the projects of the station, Barriomar-Nonduermas, ready to tender last month, are still pending and 'the AVE does not come'.

Regarding the 'wall', the popular councilor recalls that the PSOE claimed that its installation was due to the provisional entry of the AVE on the surface.

'If this were true, it should be torn down now, since the circulation of these trains is no longer going to happen'.

However, the announcement that it will be maintained shows that "the screens were not placed by the AVE but, as we defended, by the work," he concludes.

The deputy spokesman has reiterated that the Popular Party has never changed its position at any time and recalled that the City Council submitted twice in writing a request to replace the acoustic protection screen with another type of braided mesh and that it was delayed to the maximum the closing of the level crossing of Santiago El Mayor.

"We continue to demand the arrival of the AVE and working because the burial is finished as soon as possible," he concluded, after regretting again that "Murcia can no longer access, by a political decision, an infrastructure that has 47 stations and used the past year in Spain 35 million people.
