The association believes it is fundamental that the announced rehabilitation project of the environment of the Ferris wheel and the aqueduct contemplates the de-incubating of the main ditch and the elimination of all the poles and cables because they distort and disfigure the monument.
The association Huerta Viva attended yesterday July 17 to the presentation of the project of rehabilitation of the environment of the wheel of the Ñora.
As explained by the responsible architect, Antonio Abellán, the project has been divided into two phases, the first one only contemplates the arrangement and landscaping of the municipal property areas closest to the ferris wheel and the aqueduct, and the second, which will begin to be written in September, will apply to the entire environment of protection of the monument.
Within the framework of this second phase, Huerta Viva will ask the City Council to include the de-incubating of the main ditch of Aljufía from the wheel to the course of the la laguna de la Ventosa.
This section was the result of a controversial and wild tubing years ago, despite being within the protection environment of the Ferris wheel, destroying the visibility of the ditch on its arrival to such an iconic monument, degrading the space to be turned into a paved road which is transited by those cars that want to avoid the center of La Ñora, and also becoming a place conducive to the dumping of garbage and debris.
The association considers that the pipe section undermines the possibilities of interpretation and understanding of hydraulic engineering, and that the drafting of the plan is an opportunity to recover all the elements that make it up and give it functional meaning.
On the other hand, Huerta Viva supports the motion presented by the member of Ciudadanos in the Municipal Board of La Ñora asking for the elimination of the existing aerial wiring throughout the protection environment, since it breaks the aesthetics of the monument and hinders its vision.
Huerta Viva recalls that Article 38 of the Law of Cultural Heritage of the Region of Murcia requires the elimination of billboards or billboards, cables, antennas and anything that prevents or impairs the appreciation of the property, cataloged BIC.
For the association, the City Council must inform the Directorate General of Cultural Assets so that it orders the companies to eliminate the wiring, and, if it does not do so, the Administration will do so in a subsidiary manner.
It would not make sense to carry out some works in the environment of the wheel and that they would not be used to eliminate the wiring as provided by law.
