In this regard, this agreement intended that the government team of the City of Murcia, chaired by Ballesta, request the Government of Spain to speed up the works of burial and give effect to the June 2006 agreement, which, among other actions, provides for the burial of the railway tracks (including the catenaries) as it passes through the capital of the Region, guaranteeing, "in the face of the repeated defaults and delays of the Popular Party, the arrival of the buried AVE, without this supposing any paralysis of the existing works; incorporating maximum transparency in decisions ".

Precisely, these words about the repeated breaches and delays of the PP were the motivation for the mayor and his government team voted against.

In this agreement, the opposition groups also requested that "the absolute priority should be the bidding, awarding, hiring and start of the burial works of the two pending phases and, at the same time, look for the formula so that the steps to level of Santiago el Mayor and San Pío X remain open as long as possible. "

Therefore, PSOE, Ciudadanos, Ahora Murcia and Cambiemos Murcia insist that "this agreement and not another that tomorrow the mayor must take into account when making any decision."
