The general secretary of the PSOE of the municipality of Murcia, José Antonio Serrano, will be the head of the mayoral list for next year's elections, after the primary process was closed, during which a single candidate was presented.
Serrano, who currently serves as head of the Emergency Service of the Hospital Morales Meseguer, has been general secretary of Murcia for a month, since he will try to coordinate all the work and effort of the socialist groups "to undertake a project of the municipality comprehensive and compact in order that all Murcia, wherever they live, have access to the same opportunities and can lead to a balanced development.
"I want to be the mayor of all Murcia and Murcia to end injustice, inequality and poverty in the municipality, and so that the citizens living in the districts have the services they pay and deserve," he said.
"I undertake this project with the firm intention of working for the equality of our neighbors, for a real decentralization in terms of services and transportation and for a model of municipality that will take Murcia out of perennial stagnation to become a modern and attractive territory", has added.
According to Serrano, Murcia must leave the announcement and good intentions and make transcendent projects that put the municipality on the map as a benchmark in business investment, tourism and culture.
"We have good raw material in this land, so, with clear objectives and a lot of work among all, we can leave Murcia in the prominent place it deserves for many years," he concluded.
