The Councilor for Modernization of Administration and Urban Development, José Guillén, corrects Ahora Murcia and clarifies that the Californian poppy species that is going to be planted in the gardens of the municipality is not listed as an invasive species in the peninsula.
It responds to its manifestations about the plantation because, they said, 'appear in the Spanish catalog of invasive alien species of the Ministry of Environment.
Guillén demonstrates the falsity of these claims -with the electronic link that collects the catalog- and assures that this plant (Eschscholzia californica) is not cataloged as invasive in the peninsula and, therefore, can be used in gardens.
Only use in the Canary Islands is restricted.
