The councilor of Cambiemos Murcia, Margarita Guerrero, will raise to the Plenary Assembly next Thursday a motion in which she proposes to start work for the elaboration of the Municipal Ordinance of Volunteering, in accordance with the state law that regulates this activity.
Guerrero pointed out that since 2004 the City Council has established some regulations for Social Volunteering within the area of ​​Social Services, but it does not have a municipal ordinance that other municipalities in the Region of Murcia and the country do.
The objective of the initiative is to adapt the activity of the social volunteering to the framework of the modification that was made of the State Law of Volunteering in 2015 for the promotion of the solidarity participation of the citizenship, both inside and outside the Spanish territory, among other issues .
"The involvement of our neighbors in volunteering is a growing reality, so it is important that the local regulatory frameworks are harmonized with those of higher administrations," said the mayor.
